Alcoholics Anonymous History and the Fairbanks biography of the Town of St. Johnsbury, Vermont

My son Ken and I had decided to write a book about Dr. Robert Holbrook Smith, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. We knew that Dr. Bob considered his training in the Bible to be excellent. And he pointed specifically to his years as a youngster in Vermont. To us, this was critical in understanding the origins, history, founding, original Christian fellowship program, and successes of the early Akron A.A. Christian Fellowship that Dr. Bob and his partner Bill Wilson co-founded in Akron in June of 1935. And, as you will see, this Fairbanks book is part of the foundational picture of Dr.Bob's biblical faith.
There was virtually no information about Dr. Bob and the Bible in his younger days. Nor about what he meant when he spoke briefly about his frequent attendance at church and the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor.
And as years of research had established and have grown in improtance, early A.A. took its basic ideas from study and effort in the Bible.[[ASIN:1885803168 The Good Book and the Big Book: A.A.'s Roots in the Bible (Bridge Builders Edition)]]. It focused its Bible studies on the Book of James, Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, and 1 Corinthians 13. See The James Club[[ASIN:1885803990 The James Club and the Original A.A.
